Star Wars, snelle evolutie, The Great Bear, evangelische romans, zombievoorgangers en Christus

En een voor Buddy Holly is alive and well on Ganymede

Een oude mensachtige, Paranthropus boisei at gras.

"There are traces of the Creator all over creation, and seeds of light are likely to be found in every religion, mixed with human and other influence though… And every truth that can really considered to be truth has its ultimate source in Him, wherever we find it."

My Easter message was ‘How to Thrive and Grow During a Zombie Apocalypse’. We expect people in church to behave like they have a new nature, but give them no freedom to really connect with God and each other on their own. We as leaders give no choice but to process the gospel as rules of conduct for our old nature to strive for, centered around the leader’s particular set of insecurities, judgments, and unhealed wounds. The result is an on-going devouring of brain and heart in exchange for a life of conformity, fear, and shuffling along aimlessly."

"If the Church was known for being a haven of mercy, where you could reveal your most vulnerable self, warts and all, and not only be accepted, but comforted, then the strongest gates could not keep the younger generation away. The church I dream of is one that is overflowing with mercy, giving comfort to the comfortless, and family to the family-less."

"The entirety of who we are and what we do as Christians is derived from and contingent upon our spiritual union with the Spirit of Christ. This is not based upon an instrumental or causal connection with Christ whereby some "thing" other than Christ is extended to us, but is a personal and relational union whereby Christ Himself becomes the essence of all divine and spiritual realities in us." Dat leidt uiteindelijk tot verandering: "The objective of participating in Christianity and the Christian life is not just to avoid hell and get passage to heaven, but to allow the dynamic expression of the life of Jesus Christ by His Spirit to function in human behavior to the glory of God on the way to heaven (if such is to be perceived merely as locative and future). Regeneration of spiritual condition is but a crisis with a view to a living process! The Christian life is not self-generated by the initiative of the Christian, but is enacted by the dynamic expression of the life of Jesus Christ through the Christian. "Amen.
